Book Review: Fear Factory

Title: Fear Factory [A Novella]

Author: Charlotte Munro

A new Reality T.V show called Fear Factory has sprung up around the world, where Eight People are given the chance to win One Million Pounds. but to win that life-changing amount of money, they are forced to face their deepest and darkest fears. Thrown into an old factory with some clever and darkly twisted games to play, the four men and four women quickly realise that the cameras don’t stop rolling, even when one of them dies. Reality T.V can be a real killer, and the eight contestants are finding out just how darkly imaginative and sadistic the creator, Reuben Gustave can be. Fear is just an illusion, or is it?

My review:

5/5 Stars

Awesome story of brutal horror at its finest. Fear Factory presents the story of 8 “contestants” trapped in a battle for their lives against their biggest fears. Even when they win, they lose. There were surprises in this story on nearly every page and I loved some of the horror twists presented throughout. I felt they were very original but gave me a slasher vibe at the same time. Definitely one of the best horror stories I’ve read in a while.

Fantastic job, Charlotte!

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
