Title: Souls Discovered

Author: Miranda Brock

Spin away with young Autumn as she finds a seemingly innocuous gold necklace on her family’s farm and inadvertently uncovers her destiny as “The Keeper.” Autumn’s discovery of the necklace activates “The Window” and alerts both good and evil forces to her whereabouts. Autumn is pulled from everything she knows and tossed into a life of unknowns. Enigmatic enemies called Dehmons hunt her at every turn and if captured the very world she lives in will fall into destruction. With the help of seven Searchers Autumn must learn to use the power she has been given before it is too late.

Will she choose to follow the dangerous destiny thrust upon her?

Will she be able to withstand the temptation of a relationship that could jeapordize everything?

Most importantly, will Autumn be able to find the strength within herself to fight the dead-eyed evil Dehmon souls?

My review

4/5 Stars

Woven with action from the very first page, Souls Discovered is impossible to put down once you start reading. I loved how the author didn’t have a dull moment in the book by starting us out with a glimpse into Autumn’s seamlessly normal life before tossing her into a brand-new world of mysteries. The relationships between Autumn and the searchers were very well fleshed out and it gave each of the characters their own depth.

The world created by Miss Brock is one in which will not disappoint. Each character’s ability is more fascinating than the last and the twists and turns that Autumn must overcome as a Keeper were a fresh take on the usual YA fantasy obstacles. The ending was a bit predictable but seeing as how this is part of a series, I’m excited to see where the rest of the books take us.

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
