Summary

When Rose plans a mixed mission vacation with her aunt Destiny, no one is expecting more than shopping, spa days, and a few simple negotiations on behalf of Matvei. After visiting a few uneventful realms, their last stop derails their itinerary. The strange magical site Matvei sent them to investigate becomes the catalyst for a dangerous adventure that thrusts them into separate, alternate timelines as the realm grows unstable.

My review

5/5 Stars

This series always has just so much going on! Having started at book one, I’ve been with Gwen’s family through all their ups and downs, but I think Rose is one of my favorite characters. There’s a lot that happens to her in this book, including time travel which I thought was particularly interesting, and as always, it leaves me wondering what to expect for her and the rest of the family as the books progress. Every problem they face seems to be a mountain, and I wonder what lies ahead for them at the end of the mountain range.

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
