We’ve reached our last weekend of Women in Horror 2019 with only five more talented writers of dark fiction to discover. Today, I have the pleasure of introducing author of psychological horror, Kayla Krantz.

Which horror genre do you write in ?

Psychological horror is my preferred
genre.

Why
do you write horror? Tell us about your horror journey?

I write horror because it is the most
realistic form of fiction to me. People say to write what you know, and with my
affinity for true crime, I’ve always had a connection to the darker side of
life.

Your
favourite horror author and the book you like best by this author?

Stephen King of course. He is the reason I
ever took an interest in horror to begin with. His stories are always so
twisted and suspenseful that I wanted to create work like…

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
