My Review

5/5 Stars

Engaging!

Clémentine, a vampirologist, is determined to prove the existence of vampires. After finding a corpse in Austria, she goes on a quest to find the truth behind Vlad the Impaler’s life. What she finds will be more than she ever bargained for.

From the very first chapter, the Gravedigger is filled with suspense. What at first seems to be an enemy who must be dealt with turns to an alliance that I never suspected. I loved the relationship between Clémentine and Vlad. It was well-written and easy to lose myself among their banter. Both Clémentine and Vlad have their internal issues, but the way that handled them and one another was just fantastic.

I loved the mix of different history, mainly the blend of the Gothic setting and the introduction of an Egyptian Pharaoh. That was a creative twist, one I certainly didn’t see coming, and it added to the intrigue of this book.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Published by Author Kayla Krantz

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
