Book Review: Mine: A Hate Story

Title: Mine: A Hate Story

Author: Andie M. Long

Narrator: Rosanna Bini

From the author of number one best-selling erotic suspense Saviour comes another dark tale.

I had my life all planned out, but in the blink of an eye, it was gone. I lost my baby, my husband, my happily ever after. So, I made another plan. Destroy the man who ruined it all. Edward Bonham. With his perfect wife and perfect life. Why should he be allowed to keep everything I’ve been denied?

Years have passed. They think they’re safe. They think no one remembers. They think all is forgiven. But I will never forgive, I will never forget, and one day, retribution will be mine.

Warning: This story is filled with dark scenes and is suitable for listeners 18 and above.

Author’s note: This is not a love story; it’s a hate story with so many twists you’ll hurt your neck. If you review, please do not post spoilers.

My Review

5/5 Stars

Rivalry has never been so fierce.

When Melissa marries Jared, she’s ready to live the American Dream. That is until she catches her husband cheating and that life is ripped away. Melissa vows revenge against the man who destroyed her life. In the process, she learns a secret about herself.

There was so much suspense packed into this short little listen. Quite a few times I found myself dramatically whispering No. None of the characters were very likable, but I think that’s what made this story even more real. They were flawed, and that made them easy to relate to. I loved how cunning Melissa was, and the way that Edward matched her.

This was definitely a unique kind of thriller. Plus the way the author wrote the ending gave the book the feeling that it had come full circle. Wonderful audiobook.

Narration was fantastic.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
