In this book, we follow Kat as she tries to get the rights to the vodka factory her parents used to own. This requires an adventure to a dangerous location in the Soviet Republics. A character that she meets at the airport, Marty, becomes a bigger part of her life when it turns out that he is also after the vodka plant. As things spiral, Kat finds herself in danger as she fights for freedom as well as to keep what’s hers.

Plenty of tension and suspense. A cozy little thriller read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I was rooting for Kat from start to finish. She was both fiery and soft at times which I thought was an interesting combination. All the characters were fleshed out, even the bad guys.

I read book one, and it gave good background, but The Vodka Trail can be enjoyed as a standalone. Though I highly recommend you read both books!
