Summary

What does it mean to be afraid?

Don’t read this collection of short stories if you don’t enjoy screaming, jumping at every sound, trembling, or looking over your shoulder from now on. From bite size frights to longer bone chilling stories, with 15 different up and coming short story authors, Write Volumes is bringing the color back to horror.

What would you do if your girlfriend wouldn’t let you see what she was working on all day long, you were left home alone at a monastery, your girlfriend dumped you for a totally incompatible man, your mother refused to let you play with your friends over the summer, or your cousin was possessed by a siren?

Do you have the guts to approach your secret crush, marry the person of your dreams, or attend a Halloween movie reenactment camp? Will your family accept your significant other? Are you more human than machine? Don’t look now, but something may be watching you…. Or is it following you?

What could go wrong? From potentially world ending to life altering individual short stories, view the many shades of fear but don’t say we didn’t warn you. This is only for the strong of heart… and we can’t guarantee your heart won’t burst or break. Adults only and beware, the scare can be for real… and lasting.

My Review

5/5 Stars

Wonderfully chilling collection of short stories.

Some of them were bone-chilling scary while others made you ponder the fear by tying into pressing issues in society. I loved each story in this collection because each of them hit me in a different way.

Recommended if you’re looking for a good chill or don’t have time to read a full-length novel.

Published by Author Kayla Krantz

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
