Summary
Frankie is a 21st-century computer programmer, turned ufologist when she is approached by the members of the LSS Slicer crew. The starship being commanded by Captain Caldwell. She becomes their most significant asset in the temporal war.
Their enemies were ready to die for a spectre of her DNA. The Dome and Rakes in the Scorpius Quadrant forged a betrothal with the Orion Quadrantās defence, the Alliance. Nowhere is safe anymore.
Within Frankieās DNA, is the infinite knowledge of the Greys. It hides within it how to revive their technology and share their knowledge. Frankie had to remain safe. Like her life, if compromised, could easily mean the end of the Milky Way. Life as she knew, completely shredded.
Caldwell promised to keep Earthās history safe by using Frankieās knowledge of her home, untainted by the Domeās time traveling. Caldwell would use Frankie to re-establish her timeline and all others until the Domeās complete alienation. Not everyone believed Caldwell deserved trust.
The mission: save time and space from the 26th century at all costs.
My Review
5/5 Stars
Woah.
So, itās books like this one that really make me enjoy the sci-fi general as a whole.
In Frankenstein, weāre introduced to a young woman named Frank N. Stein who has been pulled from her life on Earth to help with a war in space because of a special mutation she has. She can decide the fate of the entire war, and because of that, many people want to get their hands on her. Navigating through life in the clutches of battle shows her exactly who she can trust and whoās out for her blood.
There are lots of on the edge of your seat moments throughout this entire book. I love the way the author seamlessly blended so many genres into this adventure: sci-fi, romance, adventure, and suspense. It seems thereās just about something for everyone to love in the pages of this book.
Also, the way that the characters are created is spellbinding. Frankie in particular was a favorite of mine because from the beginning weāre made aware of the fact that sheās not perfect. She has her flaws, plenty of flaws, but that doesnāt stop her from being a badass warrior.
Perfect read for fans of Star Trek and the like. Or just fans of sci-fi in general.
You wonāt be disappointed.
