I am so excited to announce that launch day for What I Did is officially here.
For those of you who don’t know, What I Did is my first standalone novel as well as my first attempt at writing a purely psychological thriller piece. As a reader, these are my favorite kinds of books to devour, and I’ve had the idea for What I Did for a number of years.
That being said, I’m happy to finally pass it from my hands to yours.
A little backstory about where the idea for this book came from:
A couple of years ago, I worked as a Customer Service Manager and a cashier at Walmart. When America was in the throes of “active shooter” situations, I lived in fear for a while that our store would be one of the ones that would be targeted. It was in a bad area and there were frequent robberies in the parking lot and the like.
So I started thinking a lot about what I would do, what I could do, if a situation like that ever broke out where I worked. That in turn moved to what would happen if someone not of sane mind experienced it. A lot of my books feature main characters with a variety of mental illnesses, and What I Did is no different.
Jessica has her own host of disorders, and the result is that she believes she has the potential to one day be a killer. When she’s faced with an active shooter situation, it turns her entire belief system upside down. She no longer knows who she is or what she’s capable of.
All she knows for sure is that she’ll do whatever it takes to survive.
To celebrate today,Ā I’ve got an event set up in FB. Plenty of authors are making appearances, hosting giveaways, and playing games. If you guys get a minute, please be sure toĀ pop in!
