Summary

HELLO….
Welcome to Brunswick State Mental Hospital.
On today’s agenda is an array of insanity, some violent, some not but all ready for your inspection. Lead Psychologist, Alexis Dhavern is auditing and would love your opinion.
They say that “truth is often stranger than fiction.” I’ll let you make up your own minds on that one after you have visited the patients…. Enjoy your visit and I hope to see you again in the future, providing of course that you leave in the same manner you arrived at?
Dr. Dhavern will be watching….

My review

5/5 Stars

This was a short read but so very vivid. Each of the chapters in this book featured a case file, the background of one of the characters within the Brunswick Asylum. To me, each of them read like cases off of the ID channel. Needless to say, this had me hooked from start to finish and I couldn’t put the book down until I turned the last page. And I say this literally because I read the entire thing in one sitting. I’ll definitely be looking for more work by this author in the near future.

Proud author responsible for Dead by Morning and The Council, fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is her all time inspiration mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When she began writing, she started in horror but it somehow drifted into thriller. She loves the 1988 movie Heathers. She was born and raised in Michigan but traveled across the country to where she currently resides in Texas.
